NEXT: This from Marjorie – Nottingham Knockers – They’re back !

Hi Jeff – welcome back from holiday, hope you had a good time.   A neighbour just rang to say that a chap knocked at the door, saying he had just come out of the army and was trying to make money by selling items door to door.  I have checked our camera to see if he called here and have attached a photo for info.  Not sure if you want to take it any further but he apparently was walking down Grubwood Lane in the direction of Hockett Lane.

Can everyone please remember – only those with a Pedlars Certificate can go door to door selling cleaning products.  These will only be granted to those of ‘Good Character’.  That does include anyone who has been to prison !

Generally if asked, they produce a ‘Hawkers Licence’.  There is not such thing.  They have made them up and printed them out to look good.

It is easier – if everyone across the entire Thames Valley says the same !

I AM SORRY – I DO NOT BUY GOOD OR SERVICES AT THE DOOR.

The politely, but firmly, close and lock the front door.
