Incident Report for Bracknell Forest Fri 14 to Fri 21 April 2017

Alert message sent 21/04/2017 10:37:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

To all members – 21/-4/2-17

Firstly, I wish to apologise for the absence of the Bracknell Forest Incident reports during the last month, this has been due to unforeseen circumstances meaning that I have not been available to send out messages to you.

Having checked the police systems, it seems that there has been a rise in vehicle crime locally during my period of absence, cars where small items have been targeted which have been left on display and vans for the tools left within. This crime has been mirrored across the border into Wokingham.

The information I am sending out today relates to burglaries and thefts from vehicles dating back to 14th April. It would not be practical for me to list all incidents that have occurred since my last message as there would not be enough time to prepare a report for this week and I have not been made aware of anything urgent that should have been circulated in my absence.

Police Advice

As mentioned above, there has been a slight rise in vehicle crime during the last few weeks and police would remind residents to ensure that nothing is left on display in your vehicle when you park it. Always lock doors and close windows, even if you leave the car for just a few minutes, you never know who is watching. Try to clear your vehicle of anything that might suggest you have items inside your car like carrier bags, if it looks like there might be something inside a bag, the offender might think it worth their while to investigate further. Never leave loose change on display, even if it is only a few pence, the offender may suspect there may be more hidden inside. Always report suspicious activity around parked vehicles.
